As a customer of Bob’s, I hope you are as committed to the future of this great store as I am. That’s why I wanted to share some news with you that will help build a financially stronger Bob’s for the future.
Vestis Retail Group, the parent company of Eastern Mountain Sports, Bob’s Stores and Sport Chalet, recently announced a series of steps that focus on supporting the long-term success of EMS and Bob’s, while efficiently winding down Sport Chalet. As part of the planned transition, all Sport Chalet locations will complete store closing sales over the next several weeks. Additionally, EMS and Bob’s will close nine locations (eight EMS and one Bob’s) where real estate costs are unfavorable.
Vestis also has initiated voluntary reorganization proceedings under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Code to help us achieve our financial objectives. This process is designed to allow companies like ours to continue operating their businesses as usual while they work to achieve their financial goals – and that’s exactly what we expect to do.
The vast majority of Bob’s stores, as well as our eCommerce site, remain open for business with all customer loyalty programs remaining in effect and gift cards and store credit honored at full value. You should expect the same great shopping experience you have come to count on at Bob’s for many years to come.
